 Great Minds [Gorilla Grodd]
« Thread Started on Dec 9, 2008, 11:09pm »

Time of Day: Midnight
Location(s): Trenton Train Yard - Central City, Missouri
Previous Thread Name: None
Characters Appearing: The Thinker, Gorilla Grodd.
NPCs used: None
Plot Summary: The Thinker escapes captivity and gets pulled into a meeting of the minds.

Dust and soot. The smell of rail oil filled the air. Soot and rust. His feet parts the dusty ground. He has been running for what feels like days but in truth are simply minutes. He had disappeared from his bed and the treacherous decent from eleventh floor without causing a disturbance was something that found astonishing, considering the screaming inside of his skull. His eyes fluttered like an addict. Clifford Carmichael. He thought his name as the fire burned in his mind. It felt as if his brain had been trying to jump out of his skull. All this while, pounding…smashing against the bone. It was a pain that made light unbearable. A pain that made sounds excruciating. A pain that numbed the senses and dulled the mind. Only instinct propelled him forward, out and away from the noise and lights of the city. Into the cold steel graveyard across the way from beeping machines and air tubes that he spent his sentence of unconsciousness. He ran until the agony grew too great for his body to handle and finally he collapsed onto his knees in the middle of the abandon tracks.

Veins bulged, crawling up the side of his face like ivy vines, green and pulsating. The pressure behind his eyes forced them to bulge. He opened them wide as his body began to seize up, taken hold by the torture of his brain tearing itself apart. He wished to claw off his skin. Claw off his flesh and crack open the bone that hid underneath. He wanted to wear at the gray matter, rip the obstruction clean. He wanted to cease the seemingly eternal anguish. The thumping behind his hues, steadily rising, rising, rising until finally he screamed. His voice carried thorough the boxcar cemetery. A wail of a condemned man disappearing into the wind like ghost songs, floating into the night. He opened his eyes to find himself encircled by steel. The line of 2 ton steel carts that surrounded on either side had been catapulted in a hap-hazard arrangement. As if a titanic child swooped in from the heavens and kicked away the line of connected rail carriages, tossing them aside with a joyful carelessness. His fleshed tingled. The pain had disappeared, sneaking away like a thief at a dusk. With eyes cleared, he looked about himself. Blindly, he had run…only now he realized where he stood. He turned to face the city, it's familiar skyline sparking the locked chest of memories. He was in Central City…but why? He stumbled in his rudimentation then as he keyed onto something that was now rattling inside of his skull. He tried to think of Contrast Ratios but found nothing. He tried to think of R8-14 capacitors and found a white wall where his knowledge once was.

So steeped in his concentration that he initially did not hear the voice calling out to him from the shadows at first. He pivoted and faced the darkness. " Hello…Who's there? Who are you?! " , he growled.

"You are very strong." Said a huge figure, hiding in the shadows. What exactly was this thing that was spying on this man? Something huge, powerful, and strong. The way his shadow casted out made it look as if he was a monster, in fact he was just a gorilla. A beat of the jungle, Gorilla Grodd was his name. Feared for his mind control abilities, Grodd hopes to bend the world into his own creation, a world where no humans exist, only apes. He wants to turn the people of Earth into apes and he would stop at nothing to do so.

Banished from Gorilla City he had nowhere to turn. So he created his own super villain alliance, The Legion of Doom. It was small, but Grodd hoped to recruit many more to his team and help him see his dreams come to reality, though he does not tell the team what his intentions are. "So. Would you be willing to join the Legion of Doom?" He asked the blond haired man, in a serious tone.

Startled and stun, he leaped back as the shadows emerged with glowing eyes and charcoal colored fur step forth from behind the opaque shroud of gloom and stood semi-erect in the naked light. The beast was nine feet. It's arms were the size of tree-limbs, long and sturdy. It's fist were the size of baking pans with long leathery fingers that sunk into heavy hairy arms. It's body was wide and broad. It's legs were short and squat, standing bow-legged with knees slightly band out. Ambidextrous toes lay flat, lightly clinging to the ground. It walked with a bounce as if on springs. It's lumbering form advanced with it's long arms swinging freely, almost merrily, which contrasted sharply with it's intimidating form.

Clifford stared up in disbelief. It had only been a minute and already he was approach by a gigantic simian in an abandoned train-yard in Central City. And so…" You're a giant monkey…", he said slowly. " And what the hell is the Legion of Doom? "
